FAITH FORMATION - CHILDREN

Elementary School Faith Formation

Religious Education at Risen Christ begins in kindergarten.  In our Kindergarten—5th Grade faith formation program, our curriculum seeks to instill knowledge and love of the faith while encouraging deep and personal relationships with Christ that evolve with the students’ development.

Pre-K program
Sunday mornings
during 9 a.m. Mass

December update: We have 3 openings in our Pre-K program! Sign up today!

Our Pre-K classes consist of Bible stories, coloring, crafts, learning prayers, and snacks. Our goal is to reinforce that each student is loved specially and specifically by Jesus, and to make Risen Christ a safe, supportive, and fun place to be!
The program is designed for four- and five-year-olds not yet in kindergarten.  [Kindergarteners should enroll in our Wednesday night programming using the Elementary Religious Ed registration.]  We will consider mature, potty-trained three-year-olds who will turn four during the school year. Registration is required as this is not a drop-in class!
Our Pre-K is held on Sundays during the 9 AM Mass,  October 6, 2024 and meet through April, 2025, during the 9 AM Mass on Sundays on the 2nd floor of the Emmaus Center; pick up is promptly at 10 AM or as soon as Mass is dismissed.
We do have scheduled non-contact weeks including Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Martin Luther King Day weekend, President’s Day weekend, and Easter Sunday. Calendars will be available at the first class or on the parish website beginning in early September.
Please contact Christine Fritschen in the office to discuss or sign up using the button.

“Sacramental Prep”
Wednesday evenings
6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

The Archdiocese of Denver has adopted the ‘Restored Order’ of the Sacraments of Initiation to reflect the tradition in the early Church: first Baptism, followed by Confirmation, and then First Holy Communion. This class prepares 3rd graders and unconfirmed 4th and 5th graders for both Confirmation and First Holy Communion.

Confirmed 4th and 5th Grades
Wednesday evenings

This year’s class focuses on Jesus’ divinity, ministry, and miracles to reveal how he is the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament. Using plays, crafts, and games, students grow in knowledge of—and relationship with—Christ himself.
