Christ in the City
Meal Preparation
Christ in the City Meal Preparation
Second Tuesday of the month
Volunteers prepare a nutritious dinner once a month for homeless people in our community for the Christ in the City missionaries. Meals are delivered to the parish kitchen on the second Tuesday of the month, prior to a volunteer delivering them downtown on Wednesday morning.
NEW! MEALS FOR MOMS MINISTRY
We are starting a new ministry at Risen Christ to provide meals for our new moms in the parish. We are thrilled to be able to bless these mothers and fathers as they welcome the newest additions to their families. We are looking for volunteers to make meals for these new parents. To sign up to provide a meal, please join the Meals For Moms Flocknote group.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation, who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Food Bank of the Rockies Mobile Pantry
Food Bank of the Rockies brings food to the Risen Christ campus on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. The food is distributed to people in our local community. Volunteers needed from 2 to 5 p.m. to prepare food boxes and then to put them in recipients’ cars. Parish Outreach interfaces with Food Bank of the Rockies and coordinates parish volunteers for this food distribution program.
Food Delivery Ministry
Food Delivery Ministry
Donation boxes in the vestibules allow parishioners to donate non-perishable food to our inner city food banks in the Denver Metro area. Using the parish van, volunteers take the food donations to several downtown shelters and homeless ministries. Additionally, volunteers pick up food from Panera’s and a local grocery store. Deliveries are on Monday and Friday mornings after the 8:00 a.m. Mass.
Funeral Reception Volunteers
Funeral Reception Volunteers
Funeral Reception Volunteers minister to grieving families by providing a reception after a funeral Mass. Volunteers come to the parish kitchen on the morning of the reception to decorate tables and set out food platters. Volunteers maintain the food tables during the reception and clean up following the reception. Usually completed by 1:30 p.m.
Throughout the year, Risen Christ organizations sponsor drives and collections to benefit the needy in our community. Click on the button to see our current list of Outreach Drives.
Parish Service Projects
Held throughout the year to assist in the maintenance of parish grounds and facilities. Projects include kitchen organization and cleaning, weeding and planting the flower beds, and deep cleaning the church before Easter and Christmas. Check the bulletin or the website for upcoming service projects.
Parish Festival Volunteers
Parish Festival Volunteers
The Parish Festival is held during the summer, following the 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. All are invited to share a fun-filled afternoon with fellow parishioners. Over a hundred volunteers are needed to make this event a success. Check the bulletin and website for dates.
